What We Know About Ancient Rome

Julius Caesar Day!!
"When in Rome, do as the Romans do..."
This has been the theme in our study of Ancient Rome. We have built a model of the Colosseum, so our next task was to dress up and live in Rome for the day. We could have gone extreme with the pretending, but the outfits were extreme enough. The girls came representing the beautiful Cleopatra, and the boys most handsomely looked like Julius Caesar. I wish you could have been a part of the audience for the play. It was quite a tragedy. Our very own Julius Caesar (Joshua T.) was killed today by his betrayers. After the mourning, we examined the suspects. Thanks to Flavius (David), we solved the mystery of who was responsible for the death of our beloved leader. Watch out for Brutus (Kwegya)! Great job, actors and actresses! Enjoy!

Fiction Book Reports: a Success!
Wow!!! I was so impressed with the students' book jackets that they made for their book reports. They did an excellent job compelting them at home, but their in-class presentations were what impressed me the most! Such confidence, poise, and clearity. Fantastic job Third Grade!! I can't wait to see what you come up with next.

Welcome to Third Grade at AIS
John 15:5
"I am the vine you are the branches; if you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit.
Without me you can do nothing."
Welcome to Ms. Meadows' Third Grade class, or should I say Busy International Business? These students are not simply members of a third grade class. Each student has responsibilities which help maintain the order and self-controlled atmosphere of our classroom. The students take part in a "real" business which they have recently named Busy International Business where we have Busy Hands, Busy Eyes, Busy Ears, and Busy Minds. This blog will allow you to follow our spiritual and academic adventures throughout the year. Stay tuned!!
